Syke Barn Rusland is a self catering annexe joined to Syke Cottage, a traditional Lakeland long house, the annexe was originally the barn. Situated between Coniston and Windermere, this is an ideal base for families, walkers, nature lovers, climbers and cyclists.
The annex sleeps 4 (sorry, no pets), the main bedroom has a king size bed and en-suite shower, the second bedroom has 2 single beds. There is a family bathroom, modern kitchen with a dining area and living room complete with wood burning stove and internet connected TV. Designated parking area.
In addition to the ground floor cosy living room, on the second floor there is a wonderful gallery area with beamed ceiling for relaxation, games and a second internet connected TV. Outside there is raised decking with seating which overlooks the valley which is accessible through french doors from the living room. In addition there is a patio area with table and chairs along with a lockable bike store for those guests wishing to bring their own cycles.
The annexe benefits from an eco-friendly Air Source Heat Pump which provides hot water and under-floor heating, making the return back after a long winter hike all the more pleasurable.

Covid-19 Update
In response to the pandemic and the restrictions still in place, we have undertaken a full risk assessment and have drawn up new procedures aimed at reassuring you that your stay will be as safe as we can make it.
In addition to our usual thorough cleaning regime, and with your safety in mind, we have implemented the following: After cleaning, antiviral disinfectant will be used to sanitise all surfaces and high touch items and areas such as worktops, tables, handrails, welcome folder, remote controls, switches, sockets, door/window handles, thermostats, plugs & appliances.
The key safe will be sanitised. Towels and bed linen will continue to be washed on the highest temperature as per the manufacturer's guidance. Anti-bacterial wipes, hand sanitizer and liquid soap will be provided, together with additional cleaning materials for guests to use during your stay. We didn’t want to strip the place bare and remove things like the walking books, maps and DVDs which we know our guests find so useful but as you will appreciate, it is just not possible to individually sanitise all of these items. Feel free to wipe them with the antibacterial wipes provided. We hope you find our cleaning regime reassuring and that you have an enjoyable and safe stay at Syke Barn.
